The European Commission have recently published a draft version of the proposed Implementing Regulation for the new General Safety Regulation, (EU) 2019/2144. This draft Implementing Regulation, referred to as Ares(2020)3711880, specifies the detailed technical and administrative requirements for all of the EU automotive type approval subjects that are not covered by UN ECE Regulations, i.e. masses and dimensions, registration plate space, windscreen wiper and washer systems, etc. The closing date for interested parties to submit comments to the European Commission on this draft Implementing Regulation, via the European Commission's "Better Regulation" web site, is August 11, 2020.
