NHTSA is Seeking Additional Comments Regarding use of Cameras rather than Mirrors for Rear Visiblity

On October 10, 2019 (FR Vol. 84 No. 197) the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) published an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) (Docket No. NHTSA 2018 - 0021). NHTSA proposes to amend Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 111 – Rear Visibility to allow cameras in place of inside and outside mirrors.

NHTSA Clarifies Crash Requirements for Electric-Powered Vehicles

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has published a Final Rule (FR) to clarify the direct contact protection requirements for high voltage connectors in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 305 Electric-Powered Vehicles: Electrolyte Spillage and Electrical Shock Protection (August 23, 2019, F.R. Vol. 84 No. 164, Docket No. NHTSA-2019-0009).
