Updated Chinese Standards on Passenger Car Tyres and Truck Tyres Published

Updated versions of two Chinese standards on tyres have recently been published; GB 9743-2024 on passenger car tyres and GB 9744-2024 on truck tyres. Whilst both of these updated standards introduce numerous revisions to their existing requirements, the most significant change introduced as part of these updated standards is the addition of some completely new requirements on rolling resistance and wet grip performance into both of them. Within each of the updated standards, limits, test methods and pass criteria are specified for both the rolling resistance and wet grip performance of tyres. Compliance with all of the revised requirements introduced by the updated standards, apart from the new requirements on rolling resistance and wet grip performance, becomes mandatory for all new tyres manufactured from May 1, 2025. Compliance with the newly introduced requirements on rolling resistance and wet grip performance becomes mandatory for all new tyres manufactured from May 1, 2026.

These updated Chinese Standards are available on InterRegs.NET for our China subscribers, and are also available at Selectregs.
