EU eCall Regulations Updated to Require 4G/5G Compliant Systems
On April 19, 2024, an updated EU Regulation on eCall was published. This new EU Regulation, (EU) 2024/1180, amends the existing EU Regulation on eCall, (EU) 2015/758, to require the fitment of 4G/5G compatible eCall systems.

NHTSA Propose to Regulate Hydrogen Powered Vehicles
In the April 17, 2024 Federal Register (Volume 89, number 75) the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) [Docket No. NHTSA-2023-0006]. The proposal is for two new Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSSs) which specify performance requirements for motor vehicles that use hydrogen as a fuel source.

New UN ECE Regulation on Driver Control Assistance Systems (DCAS) Adopted
At the 192nd session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN ECE) World Forum for the Harmonisation of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29), a new UN ECE Regulation on Driver Control Assistance Systems (DCAS) was adopted.
