Draft EU Regulations on the Carbon Footprint of Electric Vehicle Batteries Published
Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 on batteries and waste batteries, which was published in July 2023, introduced a requirement for battery manufacturers to declare the carbon footprint of certain categories of battery that they produce, and electric vehicle batteries are one of those categories. To allow for the implementation of this requirement, on April 30, 2024, the European Commission published two draft Regulations relating to the carbon footprint of electric vehicle batteries.
