Upcoming UN ECE Working Party on Noise and Tyres (GRBP) Meeting

The 83rd session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN ECE) Working Party on Noise and Tyres (GRBP) is scheduled to take place on February 10-13, 2026 in Geneva. Topics to be discussed at this meeting include proposed amendments to UN ECE Regulation No. 51 on noise emissions from M and N category vehicles to update the Additional Sound Emission Performance (ASEP) compliance measurement methods to accommodate electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles that can be propelled without their internal combustion engine operating, proposed amendments to UN ECE Regulation No. 142 on the installation of tyres to introduce specific requirements for vehicles equipped with automated driving systems and a proposal for a new UN ECE Regulation on tyre abrasion performance.
