Upcoming United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN ECE) Working Party Meetings

The 80th session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN ECE) Working Party on Noise and Tyres (GRBP) is scheduled to take place September 17-20, 2024 and the 20th session of the UN ECE Working Party on Automated/Autonomous and Connected Vehicles (GRVA) is scheduled to take place on 23-27 September, 2024. Topics to be discussed at the GRBP meeting include proposed amendments to Regulation No. 41 on motorcycle noise and Regulation No. 51 on noise for M and N category vehicle and the development of a new ECE Regulation on tyre abrasion. Topics to be discussed at the GRVA meeting include proposed amendments to Regulation No. 79 on steering equipment, Regulation No. 157 on automated lane keeping systems (ALKS), Regulations 130 and 152 on advanced emergency braking systems (AEBS) and Regulation No. 171 on driver control assistance systems (DCAS). GRVA will also review a proposed amendment to the Consolidated Resolution on the construction of vehicles (R.E.3) to clarify the application of its provisions in relation to software updates.
