European Commission Requests Comments on Proposed Amendments to the EU Regulation on Batteries and Waste Batteries
On May 21, 2025, the European Commission published a draft Regulation proposing amendments to EU Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 on batteries and waste batteries for public comment. Within (EU) 2023/1542, a number of battery due diligence obligations are specified, which companies placing batteries onto the market or into service must comply with.

At the 195th session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN ECE) World Forum for the Harmonisation of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29), an 05 Series of Amendments to UN ECE Regulation No. 100 on specific requirements applicable to vehicles with an electric powertrain were adopted.
