Richard Scholer, Global Manager - Electrified Powertrain Systems at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Michigan, USA is the winner of the 2017 SAE/InterRegs Standards and Regulations Award. He is also the SAE Hybrid PEV Communication and Interoperability Task Force Chairman. Richard has been a team leader in establishing SAE and ISO/IEC standards for Plug-in Electric vehicles, and then demonstrating Smart Charging, DC Charging, Reverse Power Flow and Wireless Charging, on various vehicle programs. He has been actively involved in several Standards for Use cases, messages, protocol, interoperability and safety. Richard's efforts and actions over the years show his dedication to increasing interest in, and awareness of, new and updated electric vehicle standards.
An engraved Award and US$1000 prize will be presented to Richard by InterRegs' MD Rebecca Rubio later this month, during the 2017 SAE Government/Industry Meeting in Washington DC.
