On June 9, 2023, (Federal Register Vol. 88 No. 111; Docket No. NHTSA-2023-0012) the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) to extend the comment period for the ANPRM regarding side underride guards on passenger cars and light trucks which was issued on April 21, 2023. The comment period is extended from June 20, 2023 to July 20, 2023. The agency received 2 requests for an extension.
