The 79th session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN ECE) Working Party on Noise and Tyres (GRBP) is scheduled to take place on February 6-9, 2024 in Geneva. Topics to be discussed at this meeting include a proposed new Series of Amendments to UN ECE Regulation No. 138 on Quiet Road Transport Vehicles (QRTV)/Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems (AVAS), a new UN ECE Regulation covering the type approval of retreaded tyres with regard to their snow performance and their classification as traction tyres and a proposed update to UN ECE Regulation No. 117 on the type approval of tyres with regard to their sound emission, wet grip and rolling resistance performance to introduce new test methods for measuring the abrasion performance of tyres.
