Updated Chinese Standards on Energy Consumption Labels for Light Duty Vehicles Published

Updated versions of two Chinese standards on energy consumption labels for light duty vehicles have recently been published; GB 22757 Part 1 - 2023 which covers petrol and diesel fuelled vehicles and GB 22757 Part 2 - 2023 which covers battery electric vehicles and off vehicle chargeable (OVC) hybrid electric vehicles. The main change introduced by these updated standards is to require that the label specifies fuel consumption, electric energy consumption and electric range figures, as applicable, which have been determined in accordance with the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Cycle (WLTC) or the China Light Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC). The updated standards also require the label to specify CO2 emissions figures for all vehicles with an internal combustion engine and estimated energy costs for all vehicles. The implementation date for both of these updated standards is July 1, 2024.

These updated Chinese Standards are available on InterRegs.NET for our China subscribers, and are also available at www.selectregs.com.
