Upcoming United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN ECE) Working Party Meetings

The 129th session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN ECE) Working Party on General Safety Provisions (GRSG) is scheduled to take place on April 7-11, 2025 and the 92nd session of the UN ECE Working Party on Lighting and Light Signalling (GRE) is scheduled to take place on April 22-25, 2025. Topics to be discussed at the GRSG meeting include proposed amendments to UN ECE Regulation No. 73 on lateral protection devices with regard to the application of its requirements to extendible trailers, proposed amendments to UN ECE Regulation No. 121 on the identification of controls, tell tales and indicators regarding the introduction of new tell tales for vehicle status/vehicle states and proposed amendments to UN ECE Regulation No. 62 on the protection against unauthorised use of L category vehicles to permit the use of ‘virtual’ keys. Topics to be discussed at the GRE meeting include numerous proposed amendments to UN ECE Regulation No. 48 on the installation of lighting and light signalling devices, including proposals relating to the use of illuminated manufacturer's logos, the optional fitment of rear mounted manoeuvring lamps and the fitment of combined side marker lamps and side retro-reflectors to semi-trailers.
