Upcoming UN ECE Working Party on Passive Safety (GRSP) Meeting

The 74th session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN ECE) Working Party on Passive Safety (GRSP) is scheduled to take place on 4-8 December, 2023 in Geneva. Topics to be discussed at this meeting include proposed amendments to the UN ECE Regulation No. 14 on safety belt anchorages and UN ECE Regulation No. 16 on safety belts to remove derogations which permit the fitment of two point safety belts instead of three point safety belts in certain seating positions of buses and coaches, proposed amendments to UN ECE Regulation No. 100 on vehicles with an electric power train to require the fitment on labels on the exterior surface of M2, M3, N2 and N3 category vehicles fitted with a high voltage electric power train to identify that they are fitted with such a power train type and proposed amendments to UN ECE Regulation No. 137 on front impact to require N1 category vehicles with a maximum permissible mass not exceeding 2,800kg to comply with the more stringent 34mm limit on thorax compression criterion (ThCC).
